NotebookLM can now summarize research in 'cinematic' video overviews
"Previously, video overviews could only generate narrated slideshows, but the upgraded video overview feature uses a combination of Google's AI models, "including Gemini 3, Nano Banana Pro and Veo 3," to generate animated visuals based on the content of users' notes."
"Google says Gemini "determines the best narrative, visual style and format, and even refines its own work to ensure consistency" when generating the videos."
"Cinematic video overviews are available in NotebookLM starting today, but are currently only available in English for users over 18 with a Google AI Ultra subscription. Users can also only generate a max of 20 cinematic video overviews per day."
Google has upgraded NotebookLM's video overview feature to create fully animated cinematic videos from user research and notes. The new capability uses multiple AI models working together: Gemini determines the optimal narrative, visual style, and format while ensuring consistency, while Veo 3 generates the animated visuals. This represents a significant advancement from the original video overview feature that only produced narrated slideshows. The cinematic video overviews are currently available exclusively in English for users over 18 with a Google AI Ultra subscription, with a daily limit of 20 videos per user. This update follows Google's recent series of AI video enhancements, including upgrades to its Veo model and expanded access to Flow.
