1 day agoHere's when the Motorola Edge 70 is rumored to reach India
Motorola Edge 70 5G will launch in India around December 15, under INR 35,000, with a larger battery while staying 5.99 mm slim.
Motorola's last proper flagship smartphone was the Edge 50 Ultra which launched back in 2024. The company skipped the Edge 60 Ultra, but according to a new leak it's going to soon launch the Edge 70 Ultra. This is rumored to be powered by the recently unveiled Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, and the image below purportedly depicts the Edge 70 Ultra's back in two colorways.
A prototype A57 ran Geekbench earlier today, and, as always, this has revealed the chipset that's powering it. It's the Exynos 1680, the successor to the Exynos 1580 in the Galaxy A56. The new chip is clearly still in the testing phase, so don't take the results too seriously. For what it's worth, it managed a single-core score of 1,311 and a multi-core score of 4,347 in Geekbench 6.5 for Android.
Realme went with a swappable camera bump design, giving you a choice of not just form, but also finish and color. The camera bump can either be a rectangle or a circle and in different looks as well - like a robot. Or, technically, you can leave the phone without a camera bump, defaulting to a car-without-a-bumper-kind-of-look. Realme sent us all seven camera bumps that will be initially available, and we have all of them lined up for your viewing pleasure.
E-readers typically force a trade-off between portability and capability. Compact models fit easily in bags but often lack processing power or features beyond basic reading. Larger tablets offer more functionality but become awkward to carry daily. Most devices focus on storage capacity and screen size while ignoring the need for smarter tools that support active reading and deeper engagement with content rather than just passive consumption.
The changelog is extensive and includes Modes, which let you block notifications to help you concentrate in situations like driving, working, or sleeping. You also get a new Recommended option in display quality settings, there's a new way to set the screen's white balance, there's a new way to turn Side sense on and off, you get the ability to open the lock screen settings from the home screen, and you can now check the battery's status too.
This feature was added in 2024, but it didn't receive much attention until the release of Android 16. What is Identity Check? Let's say you're away from home (which you've designated as a trusted location -- more on that in a bit). While you're gone, someone gains access to your phone and either goes to make changes to critical security settings or attempts to access saved passwords or other sensitive information. Because the phone is away from your trusted location, when that person tries to make those changes, biometric authentication will prevent them from accessing those features or data.
Well, this is highly irregular. For the first time in many moons now, Google's giving us not one but two new full-fledged Android versions in a single year. Android 16 officially arrived into the world this summer, and it'll soon be followed by another release this fall. Keeping up with what's new and noteworthy isn't easy at a pace like this - and that's to say nothing about the ever-streaming updates to core system apps like Gemini, the Google Phone app, and other Android-associated elements.
Honor is gearing up to launch its Magic8 series later this month, and we've already seen plenty of leaks about the pair. The latest one is a Geekbench run for the global Magic8. Honor Magic8 (BKQ-N49) Geekbench run The device was spotted on Geekbench with the BKQ-N49 identifier, which is different from the BKQ-AN80 on the Chinese Magic8 from last week.
Xiaomi officially announced HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16 for its phones and gave a list of devices that are eligible for beta testing. It's important to note that the announcement was for the Chinese market, so some features may vary, and the release dates will likely be different as well. The new HyperOS 3.0 brings a slight visual revamp with new icons, a new status bar and the addition of Super Island. Additionally, 3.0 also offers AI capability improvements and under-the-hood tweaks for enhanced performance.
It's evident that Google's main aim is to lure iPhone users away. This is both something Google itself is asserting and in all ways evident from the company's priorities. Rather than relying on a reputation of Pixels being the "smartest smartphone", as some have described it in years past, its main claim to fame is the soft, rounded, friendly face its hardware-software combo provides.
That frustration might soon be over, as the latest beta version of Android 16 is bringing expanded support for dark mode -- including apps that don't have it built in. Also: Your Android phone just got a major upgrade for free - including these Pixel models In a recent developer blog post , Google announced that Android 16 QPR2 Beta 1 can "intelligently invert the UI of apps that appear light despite users having selected the dark theme."
Cached data can accumulate, become corrupted, or simply get outdated, which may slow down your device. Restarting your phone often helps, but a targeted cache-clear is a quick way to boost responsiveness without upgrading hardware.
