PALO ALTO The defacement of a mural in Palo Alto is being investigated as a hate crime, police said. The vandalism was reported around 9 a.m. Tuesday at a business in the 900 block of East Charleston Road, near San Antonio Road, the Palo Alto Police Department said in a news release. Police said language painted on the mural was directed towards people of Israeli descent.
