32-year-old Jasmine Gao became the victim of an officer-involved shooting 0n November 19, 2024 in the parking lot of Union City Station, and the earliest reports about the incident were confusing. BART said that Gao had assaulted a BART police officer, but a subsequent release of bodyworn camera footage from the incident showed that no assault occurred. A BART police officer, Nicholas Poblete, claimed that he was dragged by Gao's vehicle when she attempted to drive away.
The footage shows the prosecutor misstating the law as she demands the cops shut off their bodycams (they refuse as she was a suspect, not a victim). Nearly a dozen times Hogan Flanagan repeats, "I'm an A.G., I'm an A.G.," as she's being ushered into the police cruiser. As if the legal version of "don't you know who I am?" wasn't enough, Hogan Flanagan tops it with this kiss of death: "Buddy, you're gonna regret this. You're gonna regret it."
