UK border chief frustrated' at French failure to curb small boat crossings

I was over, and met with him in Paris three weeks ago to really press the point about how significant delivering this maritime tactic is for us because of the taxi boat scenario. This was referred to by President Macron at the summit in July when he spoke with the [British] prime minister. So it is frustrating that it's taken the time that it has.

'A Dangerous Game'

Along the banks of the Nemunas River, flags appear to be a fundamental feature. On one side, in the sleepy Lithuanian town of Panemune, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, and European Union flags flutter in the wind. On the other, a Russian flag towers over the Russian city of Sovetsk. On a nearby building is an illuminated decorative Z, a symbol used to show support for the Russian military's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began in February 2022.
