Survivors deserve evidence-based support that helps them live well, not confusion or guesswork. One of the most striking findings of the research was the limited and inconsistent access to evidence-based nutrition care for cancer survivors, despite clear evidence of benefit. Many survivors are motivated to improve their diet following treatment, yet often do not receive timely or appropriate guidance.

The surgery was long and grueling - almost 12 hours - and my recovery was tough. I couldn't lift my baby for weeks. My husband served as a caregiver for both me and our son, while my mom and sisters rotated shifts to help. I hated feeling like a visitor in my own life, but slowly my strength began to return. It took me about a year to fully recover and start to feel like myself again.

The National Football League Alumni Association (NFL Alumni) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Cancer Prevention and Control have expanded the "GEAR UP Against Cancer" campaign to Dallas and several other markets across the country. The initiative aims to increase public awareness of lung cancer's impact, emphasize the importance of regular screenings for adults at high risk for developing lung cancer, and create a deeper understanding of the unique needs of cancer survivors.

I walked away and continued my shopping. A few minutes later, the store manager stopped by to tell me that disrespecting children was against store policy and would not be tolerated. She referred me to the company website, but of course, I could find no such policy statement. Why must members of the public be disrespected by unruly, misbehaving, noisy children, who are then defended by adults who should know better?

By the grace of G-d, my daughter survived breast cancer. The woman who used to practice yoga, jog, and not keep red meat or chips in the house, is now drinking a glass of wine more nights than not and spending her days off binging shows and movies. Her logic is, she was healthy before and still developed cancer, why not indulge?

Surviving cancer is like watching fireworks explode brilliantly in the sky. You've made it. You've done your time in the chemo chair, lain under the arc of the radiation machine.
