A vigil on March 3rd at Clapham Common honors Sarah Everard and victims of violence against women, raising funds for domestic abuse support services.
What we found was just shocking, heart (and) gut-wrenching, just to see, wow, what our students did or what our university did to our own neighbors, our own people. In 1942, Yoshihiro Uchida Hall, which used to be the university's men's gymnasium, was used as a registration center for Japanese Americans in Santa Clara County before they were sent to the incarceration camps.
John Roger Morris, born January 30, 1939, graduated from Fordham University and Wagner College. He passed away on Aug. 11, 2025, at age 86, and is survived by his wife, Alice, sons, daughters-in-law, and 8 grandchildren.
The tragic case of baby Fionán, found dead on the shores of Waterville 30 years ago, resonates with many in the local community, emphasizing the importance of remembrance.
"Many of the civilians that escaped came to Canada as part of our national story. If you're not Indigenous, everyone has come from somewhere else, and we celebrate the difficult Tamil journey and we remember the atrocities that the community went through."
