Laura Dern has reflected on the "crazy" and "incredible" experience of helping Ellen DeGeneres make queer history with her coming out scene on her '90s sitcom Ellen. In April 1997, Marriage Story actress and LGBTQ+ icon Laura Dern joined forces with DeGeneres and other industry heavyweights, including Oprah Winfrey and Demi Moore, for a revelatory, two-part episode of DeGeneres' comedy show Ellen. During the episode, entitled "The Puppy Episode", DeGeneres character Ellen Morgan, who was based on the former talk show host, realised that she is a lesbain after connecting with the colleague of a friend. The colleague, named Susan, was played by Dern.

DeGeneres shared her experience of moving to rural Oxfordshire with her wife, Reveling in the decision made just before the election, despite the emotional fallout of peers back in the US.

DeGeneres shared a humorous video on Instagram of sheep wandering into her living room, captioning it, "Our sheep keep coming inside. To be fair, we do have a piece of furniture that looks like a sheep, but that one doesn't try to eat our rugs."
