So Ms. Halligan was the stalking horse, or to use a different word — a puppet — for the president?

As I have suspected since at least Friday, there is no Jim Comey indictment. That's because, rather than re-presenting the case after the jury no-billed on one count, Lindsey Halligan never re-presented the remaining two counts. In a shocking back and forth, prosecutors said that instead of presenting a new indictment to the grand jury after it declined to approve one of the counts, Halligan simply brought an altered version to the magistrate's courtroom for the grand jury's foreperson to sign.

The beatdown came in the case of Kevontae Stewart, a DC resident who was sitting in his car on September 17, smoking a joint and bothering no one, when ATF agents started hassling him. Prosecutors filed a criminal complaint alleging that Stewart fled and tried to get rid of a gun, which he was not permitted to possess due to a prior criminal conviction.
