LAS VEGAS -- Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley suffered a hamstring injury in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders and was ruled out before the start of the third quarter. Ridley finished the day having played six snaps. The veteran receiver caught one pass for 18 yards on two targets from quarterback Cam Ward.
Indiana Pacers backup point guard T.J. McConnell will miss at least a month due to a hamstring injury he suffered in Indiana's first preseason game, coach Rick Carlisle said Thursday. "Not as bad as it could have been but it's going to take some time," Carlisle said. McConnell sustained his injury during Tuesday night's preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
In his seventh professional season, Darius Slayton is one of the longest tenured Giants. He was a sixth-round pick in the 2019 draft out of Auburn. Over his career, Slayton has played in 97 games and made 70 starts for the Giants. For the first time, he was voted a captain on New York's roster. Darius Slayton is well-respected in New York's locker room.
"I definitely won't be playing in the preseason, that's for sure," Fox said. "I don't think I'll be ready for opening night. But we're going to play it by ear. I feel like I can play right now. But I don't have that [medical] expertise. I'm not going to lie to you: I was running 15 miles per hour already [on a treadmill]. I think that's probably faster than most of the guys that are here. So, when I say I think I'm ready, I for real think I'm ready."
ATLANTA -- Darnell Mooney's injury issues continued Sunday, as the Atlanta Falcons ruled out the wide receiver late in the third quarter due to a hamstring issue. Mooney came out of the game against the Washington Commanders due to the injury earlier in the quarter. He had one catch for 15 yards in the first half. Mooney missed all of training camp with a shoulder injury.
DETROIT -- Cleveland Browns starting wide receiver Cedric Tillman has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Lions because of a hamstring injury. During the second quarter, Tillman entered the medical tent for several minutes. He tested his hamstring along the sideline and reentered the game for a few snaps before leaving again.
It marks a third time Yates has been on the injured list this season and seemingly puts his availability for the playoffs in jeopardy. At minimum, he is guaranteed to miss when the Dodgers likely start the postseason in the Wild Card Series. Yates previously missed time from the middle of May into the first week of June because of a right hamstring strain.
The White Sox haven't officially declared center fielder Luis Robert Jr. out for the remainder of the season, but it seems that a return to the field is in doubt. Manager Will Venable told reporters (including James Fegan of Sox Machine) that Robert is "probably running out of time" to return to the field before the end of the season, as the early days of his recovery process haven't gone well enough to create much optimism about a quick return to action.
WROCLAW, Poland -- Ousmane Dembélé limped off the field injured while playing for France in World Cup qualifying on Friday, just 12 days before Paris Saint-Germain begin the defence of their Champions League title. Dembélé went on as a substitute for the second half of France's 2-0 win against Ukraine and lasted less than 35 minutes. He left with what seemed to be a right hamstring injury, walking to the bench with his right hand pressed to the back of his right thigh.
