The Toronto Blue Jays have signed Japanese pitcher Tomoya Kinjo, enhancing their pitching depth with his impressive four-pitch arsenal.
Angeles spent his entire season in the DSL, appearing in 10 games (4 starts) and pitching 35.1 innings. He recorded a 3.57 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 24 strikeouts to 10 walks. He allowed just 6.1 hits per nine innings. Angeles pitched very well, and was arguably the best pitcher on the DSL Braves staff. He limited his base runners, which helped him to limit the damage against him.
Expectations were high for Fuentes in 2025 coming off a breakout 2024 with Augusta, where he pitched to a 2.74 ERA and 1.02 WHIP with 98 strikeouts over 75.2 innings as a 19-year-old. Fuentes had been a guy with potential before then, but it was his 2024 breakout that really saw his stock rise. Fuentes skyrocketed through the minors in 2025. He made just three starts with Rome, then five with Columbus, prior to his promotion to Gwinnett.
Gil ended up playing 107 games, with 100 coming in Augusta. With Augusta he hit .258/.352/.378 with 25 doubles, a triple, seven homers, 50 steals, and 57 walks to 64 strikeouts over 462 plate appearances. He also got one game in the FCL after a minor injury cost him a short time, but at the end of the season he got skipped over Rome and up to Double-A Columbus to close out the year.
