New crackdown on AI images of child sexual abuse as reports double in a year

Government will require AI models to implement safeguards to prevent creation of AI-generated child sexual abuse material after reports doubled.

Authorized testers will be allowed to evaluate AI models for generating child sexual abuse imagery before release to prevent AI-created CSAM.

AI advancements are making child sexual abuse imagery more realistic, challenging detection efforts and posing significant online safety concerns.
