The Homekey project at 1237 San Antonio Road has been in the works since fall 2023, when city and state leaders touted its importance in addressing the local and regional housing crisis.
I never expected to own a home. I wasn't born into generational wealth. I grew up poor. There was-and is-no big family inheritance coming my way. Not property. Not cash. Not stocks or bonds or whatever financial instrument one might trade or sell or leverage to join the landed class.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez purchased a contemporary Georgian-style estate in Beverly Hills for $60.8 million in May 2023, marking the most expensive celebrity real estate transaction that year.
Criterion Capital has issued 87 section 21 notices across its property portfolio, amounting to fewer than 5% of its total tenants, and insists this is routine management.
A landlord has a legal duty to make appropriate repairs and to do so promptly once notified. The rules governing landlord entry into a rental unit are stated in California Civil Code Section 1954. This statute says that a landlord may enter only during normal business hours and only for a legitimate reason, which includes repairs, and only after giving 24 hours written notice to the tenant.
Tenancy in common is a form of co-ownership where two or more people each own a share of a property. One of the biggest advantages is flexibility. Ownership shares can be, but don't have to be equal. There are around five million leasehold properties in England and Wales, of which 70% are flats. At the moment, the freeholder of a property generally owns the building and the land beneath it, outright and forever. Leaseholders effectively buy the right to live in the property for a fixed period of time. Leasehold flats are found in all sorts of properties - from converted Victorian houses to purpose built skyscrapers - and tend to be concentrated in big cities.
What that became, in practice, was closer to psychic warfare. "We both tried to leverage the fact that we're supposed to be friends," Henry said. "I'd use it against him all the time: 'Come on, dude, what are you talking about?' And he'd do the same thing to me." Take, for example, the time Henry and his fiancé fostered a dog without asking Reid first: "I was like, 'He is not going to evict us for having a dog.'"
