BROOKLYN, N.Y. - A New York City Department of Education employee was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Brooklyn on charges related to child endangerment and misconduct while on duty, police said. The arrest took place around 12:55 p.m. within the confines of the 78th Precinct. Authorities identified the suspect as 40-year-old Michael Boitano, an physical education teacher with the NYC Department of Education. Boitano faces multiple charges, including disseminating indecent material to minors, official misconduct by a public servant, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Irish politicians convened on Wednesday for an Oireachtas Media Committee hearing with Irish police and other experts which largely dealt with growing concerns over the proliferation of CSAM and other AI-generated sexualised material on the social network.
