The early part of the season is when boards tend to evolve the fastest. Conference play is ramping up, high school circuits are gaining momentum across the country, and every weekend seems to introduce a handful of new names that evaluators and scouts suddenly can't stop talking about.
The No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 draft has made good on that lofty slot since entering pro ball. After a solid cup of coffee at Single-A in his draft year, Wetherholt's performance exploded in 2025 when he slashed .306/.421/.510 across 109 games split between the Double-A and Triple-A level. That would be impressive for virtually any prospect, but it's especially so for Wetherholt, who is just 22 years old and adds strong infield defense and impressive baserunning to his well-rounded game.
With their first-round pick, they selected Arjun Nimmala 20th overall. The shortstop is currently their third-best prospect, only behind Trey Yesavage and JoJo Parker. Landen Maroudis, Jace Bohrofen, Sam Shaw, and Grant Rogers all could be ranked in their top 30, while their 20th-round pick, Kai Peterson, looks like the real deal. There were a handful of prospects that didn't sign after being drafted, more than normal.
