The New England Patriots made some major additions in free agency, particularly on defense. Milton Williams became the highest-paid player in team history at $26 million per season, while they also shelled out major deals to Harold Landry and Robert Spillane. One of the more notable deals not only for the Patriots but for the entire offseason was their signing of Lions cornerback Carlton Davis. While Davis seemed like a perfect complement to Christian Gonzalez, things haven't worked out as such.

Free agent NFL wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who spent last season with the Miami Dolphins, revealed in an interview released Tuesday that he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs for 2024. Beckham told NFL podcast "The Pivot" of the positive drug test that would've occurred while he was with the Dolphins. The one-time star who turns 33 within a month said he has no intentions of retiring at this point in time, and Beckham would be subject to a six-game suspension upon any return in which he signs with a team.

"Yeah," he said, "it's Week 1."

Had an opportunity to sign with Washington. That's a championship-contending team. Me personally, I'm not a big bandwagon guy. I'm not going to sit here and jump on a team because y'all have a good opportunity to go to the championship. Like, what am I needed for? If y'all already got that type of team, y'all don't need me. Cooper, 30, entered free agency after three high profile trades marked his last team changes. The Oakland Raiders traded him to the Dallas Cowboys during the 2018 season, the Cowboys traded him to the Cleveland Browns in the 2022 offseason, and the Buffalo Bills acquired him this past October from the Browns. The 10-year veteran played in eight games in the regular season and three more in the postseason for the Bills.
