Megan Keller scored the gold-medal-winning goal 4:07 into overtime to lift the United States to a remarkable 2-1 victory over Canada for the Olympic title at the 2026 Winter Games in Milan-Cortina on Thursday. Keller took a long stretch pass and made a nifty deke through Claire Thompson before slipping the puck under Canadian goalie Ann-Renee Desbiens for an instantly iconic golden goal.
Hershey got off to a quick start against the New Jersey Devils affiliate, with strikes from Henrik Rybinski and Corey Schueneman, giving the Bears a 2-1 lead going into the first intermission. But Hershey fell behind 3-2 quickly in the second after surrendering consecutive tallies to the Comets by Cam Squires and Ethan Edwards. Then Miroshnichenko took over.
The Rangers won a game. And they deserved to win the game. It's so nice to see wins every now and then, even if we do want the best odds possible at a top pick. The young guns played extremely well as Jonathan Quick rebounded after a rough 5 games. The icing on the cake was Matthew Robertson's game winner, showcasing a new trick as he drove the net in overtime and slid the puck between Joonas Korpisalo's legs for the win.
Zach Ramsey scored unassisted with 1:12 remaining in the first half and Washington took a 1-0 lead into the break. It was only the second time this season that N.C. State trailed at halftime. Ramsey scored into an empty net after Wolfpack goalkeeper Logan Erb couldn't corral the ball at the top of the box. It was Ramsey's second goal of the tournament.
The New York Rangers Will Cuylle had last looked up at the shot totals in the third period. At the time, he recalled, he saw only eight or nine on the Seattle Kraken's side. Seattle would finish Saturday night's contest with 13, less than half of what the New York Rangers generated in a 3-2 overtime win to cap off their annual Pacific Northwest road trip.
