If you use WhatsApp for your personal and professional messaging, it can quickly become pretty busy. It also means that any professional contacts can see your photos, status updates, and where you are. To keep things separate its a good idea to use a different phone number for each, but having two numbers doesn't mean you'll need two phones.
Nearly 6 in 10 US teens (59%) say they've used ChatGPT, more than double Gemini's 23%, according to an October survey from Pew Research Center. Beyond the chart: This chatbot preference is already shaping commerce habits. In fact, 61% of Gen Z shoppers have used AI tools to help with a purchase in the last year, according to a September 2025 survey from PayPal.
WhatsApp is now rumored to be soon introducing a premium tier. This will be called WhatsApp Plus. It's said to offer several additional customization options to change the app theme, app icon, and accent colors, including 14 new icons and multiple color choices and interface elements.
Spotify is adding group chats to the messaging service it premiered last year. In an addendum to the original blog post introducing Messages, the company announced that users can initiate chats with up to 10 of their friends to share the podcasts, playlists and songs they are listening to. The in-app messaging feature, which was released last August, works to keep users on the app instead of navigating to another platform to share content with friends.
I'm one of those authors whose books AI ate for lunch a few years back. At some point I might get a check to pay me for a dozen years' work on the three books it stole, but really, there's no way to compensate for the fallout. AI seems to think no, it can't think, only shuffle what real people thought that a machine can write as well as a person can.
I want to revisit the age old question about "button placement", to see how UX may have shifted, and how the technology we have now may have changed the way we consume content. And how that, in turn, impacts how buttons and UI elements are placed. If we read from left to right, where should the primary button go: left or right?
For the past few months, we've been quietly building a standalone X Chat app for iOS. Use it. Break it. We want your feedback. The company will expand the beta beyond the initial 1,000 users soon, though no specific timeline was provided for broader availability.
ChatGPT is quickly becoming a regular habit, not just a novelty. The average user opens the app approximately 13 times a month, putting it on par with X and ahead of Reddit, according to Sensor Tower. Meanwhile, 57% of parents of 11- and 12-year-olds say their child already has their own smartphone, according to Pew Research Center, giving the youngest teens direct access to AI tools without parental mediation.
You know that friend who always texts back within seconds, no matter what time of day? I used to be that person. My phone would buzz, and before I'd even consciously registered the notification, my thumbs were already typing. It took me years to realize that my lightning-fast response time wasn't just about being helpful or friendly. It was broadcasting something much deeper about my relationship with boundaries.
People who prefer texting over phone calls aren't broken or antisocial. In fact, they often possess unique strengths that phone-lovers might actually envy. I discovered this firsthand during my freelancing stint after getting laid off. Without the constant barrage of office calls and impromptu meetings, I found myself gravitating toward written communication. And something interesting happened: my work got better, my relationships became more intentional, and my anxiety levels dropped significantly.
A mid-sized fintech company with 150 engineers rolled out AI coding assistants in early 2025. The productivity gains on greenfield projects hit 40%-better than the vendor's optimistic projections. Engineers building new microservices from scratch reported that AI pair programming felt like having a competent junior developer working alongside them, handling boilerplate, suggesting tests, catching edge cases before they became bugs.
iPhone users claim they're immediately turned off when they realise a potential partner uses an Android, in a concept dubbed the 'green bubble ick'. 'The thought of green texts makes me feel sick,' one user said on TikTok. Another added: 'The green text bubble gives the ICK hardddd!' And one joked: 'Texts back in green...suddenly I can't read.' The nickname is linked to the fact that iPhone users receive green text messages from Android users, rather than Apple's blue iMessage bubbles.
Telegram has announced that it's rolling out a fully redesigned interface for its Android app, making navigation and search quicker and more intuitive. The most notable change this redesign brings is the new bottom bar, which lets you quickly switch between the Chats, Settings, Profile, and other tabs. In addition to the UI redesign, Telegram "completely rebuilt" the interface code to maximize efficiency and increase responsiveness. You can head to the Settings > Power Saving menu to maximize performance and extend battery life.
