So another word about tickets. They did finally announce single-game tickets were going on sale, but only for games though June. It's not enough to keep season plans limited to those requiring fans to buy more tickets than they can use, feeding the secondary markets which the Mets also get a cut of, but "make-your-own-plan" fans like me who've reliably occupied seats for decades,
The one-way cost for the shortest trips on the system, such as those between stops in downtown Berkeley and Oakland, will rise from $2.40 to $2.55. A moderate-length commute - from Fruitvale to San Francisco's 24th Street Mission station - will go up 35 cents to $5.50 each way. BART calculates that the average passenger fare will rise from about 30 cents to $5.
More and more of Hawaii's parks are adding parking and entry fees for nonresidents. This month, the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources announced that it's implementing a parking management and fee system for four additional state parks. It's not completely unexpected, as Hawaii already charges parking fees for 10 parks - a list that has been growing every year. The department said the change is meant to improve the visitor and resident experience by managing crowds and traffic.
City crews have installed about 400 signs in downtown San Diego to inform drivers about new street parking-meter rates, which will increase significantly during events at Petco Park.
