This booming teahouse chain specializes in Chinese flower and fruit teas, particularly jasmine teas. The brand is growing rapidly around the world—after launching its first location in 2021 in Shenzhen, China, it has grown to more than 2,000 worldwide locations. The soft opening for Molly Tea started at the end of October, and has been a popular addition to San Mateo's B Street promenade, drawing long lines.

Toast said the analysis is based on same-store restaurant sales from January 2024 through December 2025 across a cohort on its platform, which served about 164,000 locations as of Dec. 31, 2025. The biggest declines through 2025 were found in green tea (-4.9%), black tea (-3.4%), hot drip coffee (-3.3%) and regular soda (-2.3%).

With around 40,000 stores and $37 billion in revenue, Starbucks is the biggest coffee company in the world. While it's had a few stagnant years, its all-star CEO Brian Niccol has been staging a design-led turnaround, in which cozier cafes and a protein-laden menu have siren-called customers back with some early success.
Dutch Bros now ranks as America's third-largest coffee chain behind Starbucks and Dunkin', with 1,140 locations and $1.6 billion in business. Energy drinks alone account for 25% of sales, while traditional hot coffee barely registers. 'The market is moving that way, and that is the core to what we do,' CMO Tana Davila told The Wall Street Journal.
Black Sheep Coffee is preparing a major push in the United States through a 20-unit franchise agreement for North Texas with one of its existing UK franchisees, Yoloways Ltd. Starbucks competitor Dutch Bros saw its stock price rise in premarket trading on Friday after the coffee chain posted double-digit revenue growth in its most recent quarter.
