The Cubs think very highly of Martin, who logged 18 innings with the Orioles in 2025. He posted a 44.2 percent groundball rate, along with 23 strikeouts and just nine walks. Martin was drafted in the second round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Houston Astros and spent one season with their major league club in 2019. He has yet to receive a full season of consistent opportunities at the MLB level,
