Authorities shot tear gas and pepper balls into the crowd, leaving at least one teen with an eye wound and others with skin burns, according to demonstrators and police.

Police and California Highway Patrol officers stopped a planned takeover of the Bay Bridge by dozens of cyclists Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

Officers were called to Clapham High Street on Tuesday evening and put a dispersal order in place to move the young people out of the area.

Potylo said federal agents in Minneapolis targeted him after the Portland arrest, calling the situation surreal. Lavandera reported tension [was] kind of escalating as whistles went off and protesters stood face-to-face with federal officers in the background; others could be seen holding signs and one protester waived the Mexican flag. The CNN broadcast picked up one protester yelling F*cking cowards! at the officers as Lavandera tried to talk about the scene. Authorities have been telling them for probably the better part of an hour to scoot back, Lavandera said.

Officers received a report of people unlawfully occupying the roadway and obstructing vehicular traffic near Washington and Willoughby streets, according to a NYPD spokesperson. Officers instructed the group to disperse multiple times, according to police. Most complied, but one individual refused to leave the street and was taken into custody.
