A live-to-picture screening of Rocky with the Chicago Philharmonic drew the biggest crowd, showing enduring appeal of cinema paired with live orchestral music.
Historically, Rocky has been used as a name for boys. It had its first wave of popularity in the 1950s when boxer Rocky Marciano became the world heavyweight champion, naming expert Laura Wattenberg tells TODAY.com. Marciano's career inspired Sylvester Stallone, who introduced his iconic Rocky Balboa character in 1976. The name had a second wave of popularity from the mid-1970s until 1988, sustained in part by the release of "Rocky" sequels every few years.
