Today, March 31, we celebrate Trans Visibility Day, and I am happy to use this opportunity to turn to the people in my community with good news. I have finally won in the courts of Romania! It is not only my victory, but also ours - of those who are still waiting to be seen, heard and recognised.
In 2025, 171 hours were spent stuck in a jam during peak hours, a figure that is equivalent to five working days, according to data from the navigator company Tom Tom. Based on figures collected by GPS devices, the data reveals that it takes drivers 62.5% longer to cover the same distance they would cover when the traffic circulates more smoothly. During peak hours, the average speed was 18.5 km/h (11.5 mph) and the distance covered in 15 minutes was 4.6 km (2.8 miles).
Istvan Varoczi, a 63-year-old entrepreneur from Cegled, expresses skepticism about polls suggesting Prime Minister Viktor Orban could lose. He emphasizes Orban's long-standing popularity, particularly among older voters, stating, 'I've been watching him for nearly 40 years, I have always voted for him and I will again, I've never been disappointed in him.' Varoczi believes Orban's strength lies in his relatability and connection to the people.
