The Sonoma Film Festival will offer a dozen queer features, documentaries, and shorts, showcasing diverse narratives and perspectives within the LGBTQ+ community.

Sam Green's documentary follows his relentless pursuit of the world's oldest person, a journey that reveals deep insights into the nature of time and memory over a decade.

The Grand Lake Theater is kicking off its 100th birthday with free screenings of classic films including "The Wizard of Oz," "Singing in the Rain," "Fantasia," and "Snow White." Space is limited, and it is first-come, first-served. The theater will also offer tours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

On the opening day of its 78th edition, Cannes debuted a 4K restoration of The Gold Rush, one of Chaplin's most beloved silent masterpieces.

Jeff Ross didn't plan to start his own film festival. In 1998, he was working for both the SF International Film Festival and the San Francisco Film Society, yet he couldn't find a single local venue to screen the film "Caged" by his friend Rand Alexander. Within months, Ross found himself running the first San Francisco Independent Film Festival (SF IndieFest) out of The Roxie Theater in The Mission.

Experience Making Waves: The Rise of Asian America, a documentary film featuring youth activists and educators around the U.S. who are utilizing Asian American Studies to shape a movement. Screening is followed by a panel discussion including Making Waves co-directors, Josh Chuck and Jon Osaki, with local youth activists from AAPI Youth Rising, who are featured in the film.
