Not only will matches have more variety of skill level across players, but perhaps most excitingly, randomly matched lobbies that vibe well can stick

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta added new playlists recently that only factor in skill "minimally," and that's something hardcore fans have wanted for some time. The feedback around these non-SBMM playlists has been pretty positive, and now Activision has said its development teams are "inspired" by the feedback from these tests, and the feedback around the beta so far in general.
