California's ski season was largely dry and warm, with only 18% of average snowpack by April 1, marking the second-lowest on record. Despite some quality skiing opportunities around Christmas and early January, the overall season remained disappointing.
The 2025-26 winter saw extreme weather, with the eastern half experiencing consistent cold and heavy snowfall, while the western half endured record warmth and a lack of snowfall.
Fresh snow is what turns ordinary runs into powder days, and every skier knows the thrill of waking up to see a few extra inches (or feet) on the mountain report.
The Tahoe edition of the Ski Super Sessions will premiere on March 17 exclusively on RedBull TV. Four men and four women from all over the world will compete at Palisades Tahoe for the collaborative and creative freestyle session.
Pushing limits drives snowboarding, but protection has to keep pace. Athlete safety has always been personal to me. Day two of X-Games was a nice show, with three different sports to watch. Yep, Snowmobiling is back. Several events got postponed because of how much snow fell overnight and throughout the day, so it was a bit chaotic at times, scrambling from one event to another, but I will never complain about snow falling, and it made for an active day. Celebrities, including Justin Bieber, Gunna, Johnny Knoxville, Alvin Kamara, and Alex Bregman, showed up to X-Games today to participate in the fun.
The Winter X Games are much more than just a weekend of skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling competitions. It is an entire production that takes an army to plan, implement, and execute. From the athletes to media and TV production, to security, medical staff, and physically building/maintaining each of the courses, there is so much that goes into the making of X Games. The 25th annual Aspen Winter X Games is officially wrapped, and across 18 unique disciplines, 54 medals have been awarded.
Tense altercation from an undisclosed European slope where a skier confronted a snowboarder and threatened physical violence after getting sprayed with snow by the snowboarder while standing in the middle of the slope. Much can be made about ski resort etiquette when it comes to guests pulling up and taking breaks in the middle of runs and it is not conclusive that the snowboarder's actions were punitive against the much frowned upon behavior.
Going full throttle off Mainline and making it look this effortless is truly something to behold: "This one is a lot scarier sitting in the sitski getting ready to drop than looking over the edge scoping it beforehand. Such a low POV on that thing, I felt like I was gonna launch into space!" -Jay Rawe Jay rode away clean and was a cool customer as he reached his friends who were filming from below.
