The Denver Nuggets are converting two-way Spencer Jones to a standard NBA contract for the remainder of the season, sources told ESPN on Wednesday. Jones, 24, will become a restricted free agent in June. Jones has started 34 of 46 games for the Nuggets in his sophomore campaign, averaging 6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 23.6 minutes and 41.4% shooting from 3-point range.

Spencer Jones, recovering from a slump, has emerged as a top minor league hitter, posting 26 home runs in just 65 games and leading with a 205 wRC+.

Jones is now one step closer to the big leagues, having dominated at the Double-A level before being promoted to Triple-A, leading the Eastern League with 16 home runs this year.

Spencer Jones hit his second home run of the game, marking his fifth of the season, traveling 111.7 mph off the bat and 429 feet.
