After more than a decade cooking in the Netherlands, most recently at the helm of Pure C restaurant in Zeeland where he earned two Michelin stars, chef Syrco Bakker opened the much-anticipated Syrco BASÉ in Ubud early in 2024. The chef, whose grandparents originally hail from Indonesia, is laser-focused on ingredient sourcing and sustainability, leaning heavily on local produce and cultivating a garden on site, which grows tomatoes, lemongrass, and more.
