It's the day after The Conners' finale, and I have been inundated with people looking for a reaction. The reality is, all I really have is empathy and understanding for all of the people on set and for all of our audience that's grieving.

Executive producer Bruce Rasmussen told The Post that the tearful "goodbyes" weren't scripted. "I don't think I've ever seen it before on TV, where the characters actually break the fourth wall, and you see the actual emotion of what [the actors are] going through," he said.
