Madewell has always been one of my favorite places to shop for pieces that feel both timeless yet trend-forward. So, when I spotted the brand's massive fall sale, with an extra 50 percent off sale styles using code " LONGWEEKEND," I knew my wallet was in trouble (in the best way). The discounts are too good to scroll past-think wide-leg jeans for just $30, tailored trousers marked down a whopping 83 percent, and more travel clothes that make packing for any fall trip a breeze.

When I travel, I always stuff my suitcase to its capacity. That means rolling my clothing super tight, using compression packing cubes to make extra space, and even sitting on my carry-on to make sure it zips. While that buys me an extra outfit or two, it also means the contents of my luggage can get chaotic-and very wrinkly. I hate having to steam my clothes when I unpack, so I prioritize packing items in wrinkle-free fabrics.

Turns out, your favorite jeans -the ones you excitedly built your entire outfit around-aren't as comfortable while sitting as they are while standing. With the rigid denim digging into your midsection, and hours of flight time ahead of you, you're now faced with two options: Either slip into the airplane bathroom and attempt a last-minute wardrobe change only a contortionist could pull off, or try to unbutton them without the stranger next to you noticing.

However, when living out of a suitcase for any period of time, it can be a challenge to keep your clothing items looking fresh and crease-free (especially without the aid of a wrinkle-release spray, portable steamer, or iron). Whether you're hopping off a long-haul flight or heading out of your hotel for a day of sightseeing, wrinkle-free travel pants make it easy to look polished without sacrificing comfort.

Some people are firmly in the "comfort at all costs" camp, swearing by sweats, joggers or anything with an elastic waistband. Others insist that showing up to the airport in anything less than jeans (or what we like to call "hard pants") is completely unacceptable. The truth? It truly comes down to preference. Personally, I've never subscribed to the idea of "travel pants" or any other garment designed specifically for globetrotting. (All pants are travel pants if you wear them on a trip, amirite?)
