City Connect uniforms aim to blend fashion and culture to attract younger baseball fans.
At that point, [the Islanders] viewed themselves as kind of a failed franchise that had not won a Stanley Cup in a decade and was coming down from this period of great success, said Nick Hirshon, the author of We Want Fish Sticks, which chronicles the Islanders' controversial rebranding, and a journalism professor at William Paterson University. And now the Rangers just won the Stanley Cup in that market, the Devils were on the up, and up, so maybe the Islanders could not afford a brand new arena or new players, but they could make some money by unveiling a new jersey.
The uniform features a marble base color on the jersey and pants, a nod to the marble headstones at Arlington National Cemetery. The numbers and typography are themed on the United States Constitution, with hints of purple throughout. Purple was originally used for the Military Badge for Merit in the Revolutionary War, and now it is the color of the Purple Heart.

The Harlem Globetrotters have always been more than a basketball team. For nearly 100 years, they have combined athletic excellence, comedy, and cultural influence to create a one-of-a-kind global experience. As the team prepares for its historic 100th anniversary, the Globetrotters have revealed a new set of uniforms that will debut during their 2026 World Tour. Designed in collaboration with Los Angeles-based fashion designer Jeff Hamilton, the three-uniform collection honors the team's rich past while pointing toward a bold future.

With Rivalries, the NFL and Nike are introducing a program that expands on that legacy, creating uniforms that feel rooted in each team's community while offering a bold aesthetic shift on the field. Taryn Hutt, the NFL's vice president of club marketing, described the program as an opportunity to "merge creativity and innovation" while bringing new energy to one of the most visible aspects of the sport.
