Before the practice, coach Andy Reid said Rice will make his season debut Sunday when the Chiefs host the Las Vegas Raiders (1 p.m. ET, CBS). "How many snaps he gets, [I don't know]," Reid said of Rice. "He's excited to be back in and going. I think getting through practices [this week] will be good for him to get into the swing of things. He's been working hard. He's in good shape."

The Commanders' lack of receiving depth has been a glaring issue in recent practices, especially so on Wednesday. Troubling for the Commanders is that [Noah] Brown hasn't always been readily available. The hope, of course, is that [Terry] McLaurin signs an extension - and soon. He doesn't have much leverage in his talks with the team, but its lack of starting-caliber wideouts and receiving depth have become increasingly favorable to McLaurin as he seeks a new deal.
[Ja'Corey] Brooks is a long way from earning a spot on the 53-man roster, but he certainly helped his cause during the first two days of camp. Brooks isn't getting too excited about his start to camp, which is smart, because there are several more tests for him to take on. He'll have to maintain his production in the preseason as well as joint practices with the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens. Still, he should have his coaches' attention after what he did earlier in the week.
