Her experiences during lengthy rehabilitation have deepened her appreciation for the game, transforming how she views the sport. The struggles she faced during a 13-month recovery from knee surgeries made her realize the importance of the little things in playing football, which had previously been taken for granted. Gorillaz's determination and perspective signify a resilience and newfound outlook on life and sport.

The event was organised by members of the advocacy group Women In Football (WIF) and every England tackle and pass forward were cheered.
