Lookman: Coach's criticism 'deeply disrespectful'
Briefly

Ademola Lookman defended himself after Atalanta's coach Gian Piero Gasperini criticized his penalty-taking ability following a missed penalty in the Champions League defeat. Gasperini stated Lookman should not have taken the penalty, calling him one of the worst takers he's seen. In response, Lookman expressed that being singled out felt deeply disrespectful after his hard work for the club. He mentioned feeling hurt and reflected on the importance of protecting the team while expressing disappointment over Gasperini's remarks, especially as they bonded over past successes together as a team.
It saddens me on a day like this to have a to write this statement -- most of all because of what we have achieved together as a team and as a city.
Being singled out in the manner I have been not only hurts but feels deeply disrespectful, not least because of the immense hard work and commitment I have always put in.
