Josana Pinto da Costa has altered her fishing hours from day to night due to increasingly dangerous daytime temperatures, a shift now seen in global agricultural communities.
"A lot of our fishing communities have shifted to fishing in the nighttime," said Pinto da Costa, illustrating how local fishermen are adapting to climate challenges by changing their work schedules.
Studies show the most common means of adapting to rising temperatures in agricultural regions has been to start working when it's still dark out.
The obvious piece of advice that you'll see given is, 'Work at night. Give workers head torches,' highlighting necessary adaptations due to climate change.
