This Alberta solar field is now producing eggs (and honey, too) | CBC News
Briefly

In Alberta, a new solar project generates 40 megawatts of electricity while also producing eggs, honey, meat, and wool through integrated farming. This innovative model features 110,000 solar panels and utilizes animal husbandry with sheep, pigs, and chickens roaming on the land. The project tests technology and sustainable techniques to maximize land use amidst rising electricity demand. UKKO Robotics contributes with its self-propelled pasture barn concept, showcasing potential applications of this dual-purpose land use across North America.
"If it does work, I think there's some great applications throughout North America because this is underutilized agricultural land," said Daniel Badiou, co-founder and CEO of UKKO Robotics.
The solar project, which is owned by Edmonton-based Capital Power, is beginning to resemble a hobby farm as it integrates animal husbandry with solar energy generation.
