Alfred is a productivity app for MacOS that outperforms the default Spotlight tool by offering powerful features such as hotkeys, text expansion, and custom actions. Users can search their Mac and the web efficiently and streamline their workflow with tools that allow for clipboard history access, file browsing, music control, and system commands. The app is free, with an optional paid Powerpack for advanced features. Many users find Alfred's capabilities so beneficial that upgrading to the Powerpack becomes a desired choice after experiencing the free version.
Although MacOS has a built-in search tool (Spotlight), I don't use it because it doesn't offer the flexibility I need. So when I came across Alfred, my curiosity was piqued.
Alfred allows you to type less thanks to hotkeys; browse and preview files; access a clipboard history so you won't always have to type the same URLs over and over.
The things you can do with Alfred seem endless, and that's why I choose Alfred over MacOS's Spotlight.
My guess is that once you've used Alfred for a while, you'll find yourself wanting to add the Powerpack which gives you more customizations and features.
