Aston Villa is making a concerted effort to secure the signing of Norwegian teen talent Sverre Nypan, who has drawn interest from Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester City. Nypan, currently with Rosenborg, has remained with the club until summer to evaluate his options, with his father emphasizing the importance of being courted by significant clubs. Villa is optimistic about convincing Nypan that his goals can be achieved with them, particularly as they aim for Champions League football, whereas Arsenal and City may struggle to offer immediate first-team opportunities.
"The most important thing for us is to get confirmation that there is enormous interest from big and great clubs," Nypan Sr said.
"Sverre has always thought long-term. We now consider that he is at RBK until the summer an advantage."
"The Villans hope to persuade Nypan that his ambitions can be fulfilled in the Midlands, particularly as they are once again in the mix to qualify for European football's premier club competition."
A fee of around 10m was previously mooted for Nypan, who can play in a variety of midfield positions and has been capped at every available youth level for Norway.
