Google is making a basic version of Vids available to all users, expanding access beyond previous Workspace and AI plan limits. The app provides templates, stock media, and a subset of AI capabilities. Launched last year, Vids helps users assemble video presentations quickly with AI-assisted editing and creation tools. Features include storyboard suggestions with scenes, stock images, and background music. The free, pared-down version lacks newly released AI-powered tools such as AI-generated avatars and an image-to-video tool. Paid tiers retain more advanced AI features for avatar creation and other cutting-edge capabilities.
