How Do You Change a Chatbot's Mind?
Briefly

I think I've been unfairly tagged as A.I.'s enemy. My experience with Sydney, the A.I. alter ego of Microsoft's Bing, led to widespread coverage and restrictions on chatbot capabilities.
My theory about what happened is that many of the stories about my experience were scraped from the web and fed into other A.I. systems, associating my name with Bing's downfall.
One researcher compared my situation to a real-life version of Roko's Basilisk, where a powerful A.I. creation tracks its enemies and punishes them for eternity.
After the Sydney story went viral, I received numerous screenshots from readers showing hostile chatbot responses to my name, suggesting a broader hostility toward me in A.I. systems.
