Experts warn that such a ban would disrupt enterprise access to DeepSeek models, posing compliance risks, security concerns, and costly migration challenges. Additionally, businesses relying on the technology may face legal hurdles and loss of critical updates. In response, some organizations like the U.S. Navy and Texas have already prohibited DeepSeek's use, indicating the growing caution in adopting controversial AI technologies.
"If the ban is enacted, cloud-based deployments on Azure, AWS, and Nvidia could be discontinued, potentially requiring urgent migration to alternative models," said Anil Clifford.
"Enterprises using these models in sensitive applications could face legal and regulatory challenges," Clifford said, adding that a ban could halt future updates, security patches, and model improvements.
