Meta partners up with Arm to scale AI efforts | TechCrunch
"AI is transforming how people connect and create,"
"Partnering with Arm enables us to efficiently scale that innovation to the more than 3 billion people who use Meta's apps and technologies."
"AI's next era will be defined by delivering efficiency at scale,"
"Partnering with Meta, we're uniting Arm's performance-per-watt leadership with Meta's AI innovation."
Arm and Meta have entered a multi-year partnership to migrate Meta's ranking and recommendation systems onto Arm's Neoverse platform, optimized for cloud AI workloads. Meta is expanding its data-center footprint with projects including Prometheus, expected online with multiple gigawatts in 2027, and Hyperion, planned to deliver 5 gigawatts across 2,250 acres through 2030. Prometheus construction in New Albany, Ohio includes a 200-megawatt natural gas project to serve its power needs. Arm emphasizes performance-per-watt and low-power deployments as advantages for AI at scale. The partnership does not involve exchange of ownership stakes or major physical infrastructure.
