Vanessa Lecci's journey through numerous professions has culminated in her renown as a master enameler in the watchmaking world. She hails from Salve, Italy, with early influences from her sculptor mother and great-uncle in metalwork. Her formal training in enameling began at 14, leading her to the Academy of Fine Arts for art history. Lecci's diverse careers, including professional volleyball, reflect her passion for collaboration and creativity, showcasing her belief that enameling is a vibrant and intricate art form.
Enameling is not just a technique, it's a world. It is not boring, it's not monotone. I fell in love with it.
My mother was a sculptor, working in stone, wood, marble, and alabaster. I was always in her studio, helping her do the polishing and finishing.
What I loved about volleyball was above all the team spirit, this synergy where each player brings their touch to create something great.
At 14, I entered the metal and jewelry division of an art institute, where I studied skills such as enameling and gem setting.
