Fantastical Figures Illuminate Urban Buildings in Amanda Lobos' Murals and Installations
Briefly

Brazilian artist Amanda Lobos, based in Vila Velha, creates vibrant art that combines playful imagery with profound themes. Her large-scale inflatable piece, 'Ventura', examines the relationship between humanity and nature, inspired by Indigenous philosophy. Lobos' work invites personal interpretation, reflecting her belief that art should communicate visually rather than literally. Her murals celebrate curiosity and creativity, vividly portraying motifs that engage viewers and spark their imagination. Lobos emphasizes the joy and freedom she finds in her artistic process, encouraging others to understand art as an evolving dialogue between the creator and the audience.
‘Ventura’ is about the agony and dilemma of returning a star to the sky, condemned to the duality of the fantastic and the real.’
I believe that what I want to communicate to viewers is already embedded in my work visually, allowing them to interpret it however they wish.
I enjoy the creative process and the freedom it gives me; I don’t like to be too literal or overly serious with my concepts.
My favorite thing about painting murals is seeing them come to life on a large scale from an initial sketch.
