At 22, Jay felt isolated and made poor choices influenced by his friends. After breaking into a chemistry building, he was detained and contemplated suicide. In his cell, a neighboring inmate offered to pray for him, which sparked a change in Jay's perspective. He realized he needed support and felt a sense of hope from the prayer, shifting his desire to end his life into a newfound appreciation for living.
