Manuel Neuer refuses to blame the heat for Bayern Munich's 0-1 loss to SL Benfica in the FIFA Club World Cup
Briefly

Bayern Munich's final group match in the Club World Cup ended in disappointment as they fell 0-1 to SL Benfica, preventing them from topping their group. The team struggled initially but showed improvement in the second half, though they failed to score. Captain Manuel Neuer emphasized that the team couldn't blame the extreme heat for their performance. He noted the need for a critical review of their initial half and expressed optimism for future matches, believing that replicating their second-half performance could lead to success in the knockout stage.
We can't use the heat as an excuse. Both teams had the same conditions. It was our fault that we didn't bring the same intensity to the pitch in the first half as we did in the second - we just weren't quite there.
Of course, we missed a lot of chances, and the opponent did really well. We lacked the decisive momentum to score today. We definitely have to critically analyze the first half.
Looking at the second half, we're still feeling positive. If we create the same chances over 90 minutes in the next game as we did in the second half, I'm convinced we'll be successful.
