Lotte Kopecky and team SD Worx-Protime remain optimistic as they head into major races like the Tour of Flanders Women and Paris-Roubaix Femmes, despite not securing a win yet in 2025. Kopecky, who altered her training schedule this year, has focused on supporting sprinter Lorena Wiebes, contributing to her victories in Milan-San Remo and Gent-Wevelgem. As her second race of the season, Gent-Wevelgem showcased Kopecky's increasing strength; however, she feels more climbing experience is necessary to fully demonstrate her capabilities.
I think we started the season very well. We saw that in UAE Tour already with Lorena [Wiebes] and I think that at San Remo, Strade and all the Classics so far, we saw that we could battle for the win.
If you see what happened in the hilly zone, I think it's not too bad [performance], but I think I need more climbs to show my strength.
We did a little bit of a different program with Lotte [Kopecky], so Gent-Wevelgem is only her second race. I think slowly we are coming close to the real shape.
Kopecky also started her season later, not in February as has been the case for the past four years, after a long block of training in Spain.
