On Thursday, November 21, 2024, police began dismantling the treehouses built by protesters opposing the expansion of Tesla's Giga Berlin, leading to the careful removal of the last twenty structures over the coming days.
Earlier this week, the municipality of Grüeheide announced the dissolution of the protesters' gathering, citing legal violations and issuing a general order prohibiting civilians from entering the protest area indefinitely.
As police cleared the area under the general order, they detained a total of 18 individuals who were found to be illegally occupying treehouses in the forest adjacent to Giga Berlin.
The protesters had been allowed to occupy the area for nearly nine months amidst ongoing disputes about Tesla's expansion plans, which have sparked significant local opposition.
