Bretagne Ladies Tour cancelled over budget shortfall
Briefly

The Bretagne Ladies Tour has been removed from the 2025 UCI Road Calendar due to a financial shortfall of 37,000 euros. Despite previous reassurances about the race's continuation, organisers have been unable to secure sufficient funding. Loïc Déniel, the race organiser, expressed disappointment after attempts to partner with private entities were unsuccessful, especially given expected reductions in local government subsidies. The race, which had previously attracted significant participation and was scheduled for May 28 to June 1, will not be held this year, though Déniel remains optimistic for future events, stating work is already underway for 2026.
"We are short 37,000 euros," race organiser Loïc Déniel told Le Télégramme.
"Unfortunately, we were unable to raise enough budget. As we expected a drop in subsidies from local authorities, we had taken the lead by approaching private partners."
